This legislation is overly broad and restrictive. Plenty of other licensed and trained professionals such as paramedics and AEMTs are trained to perform these skills under less than ideal conditions. Not allowing providers who are already trained and competent to provide these services under a medical director unnecessarily reduces the amount of people able to provide these services and is another form of government overreach. Given the overtaxed state of our healthcare system including EMS agencies and emergency departments, this would only go to increase the burden on these providers. I therefore ask that this bill not move forward. We need more options to access healthcare, not less.
