I support HB1356 because it wisely extends the time period to file a claim for violation of the prohibition on sex-rejecting medical procedures intended to change a minor's “gender” from 2 years to 10 years from the date the minor reaches the age of majority. Studies are showing that the average time to regret medical transition is anywhere from 8 years to 11 years (depending on the procedure or whether it was cross-sex hormones without surgery). A common reasons for de-transitioning is a realization that gender dysphoria was related to other issues (70% according to 'Detransition Among Transgender and Gender-Diverse People' by Michael S Irwig in The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism, Volume 107, Issue 10, October 2022).
