While I recognize the importance of free speech, I also respect that those seeking medical care should be given a physical buffer free from being harassed and assaulted. I do believe that there is a time and place for discourse, but this is not that place and impeding entry and forcing your views on others is not discourse. Last year a group of individuals who regularly stand outside the clinic in Concord actually approached school buses and school children who were attempting to go to a book event with their signs and it created a distressing situation for local businesses, the school district and families. If there is no respect of protestors for our children, I can only imagine how difficult it would be for someone seeking medical attention. I respectfully ask that you oppose this bill.
