Please do not penalize health care providers who provide gender-affirming care. We know to be true the positive and life-saving benefits of young people being raised in an affirming environment and allowed gender-affirming care. There is a long list of ways to affirm people before even getting to gender-affirming healthcare; it’s not necessarily the first step. My child’s life was saved because we as parents listened and supported them while they figured out who they were. It was We considered every step carefully and learned all we could before making decisions, especially ones that could not be reversed. Let the healthcare professionals and parents have these important discussions and make the best educated decisions together, with politics. Thank you.
