Milford Conservation

The purpose of current use is to keep land from being developed because of the high cost of land ownership in the form of taxation.. NH wants to maintain its large swaths of open space for the environmental and recreational services it provides to the state, New England, East Coast and to the US. The goal is met by allowing landowners to defer their highest and best value taxation rate as long as the land is undeveloped. The limitations on size and location are unfair to the landowner. The restriction to certain uses is an unfair taking of the land rights to which the landowner is entitled. this is not a good bill. People in this state consistently vote to protect their natural resources. Keeping land in current use is critical to meeting that goal. Please do not support this bill.
