Medical decisions should be left to the patient and her doctor. A medical professional should not have to be concerned that medically sound advice given to his/her patients could result in a loss of state funding for their facility or future law suits against it. And who gets to decide what qualifies as a “medical emergency.” It should be medical professionals not partisan politicians. Women have died because it was decided that their condition did not match how non-medical professionals had defined a medical emergency. I believe we should aim for abortions to be safe, legal, and rare. This bill does just the opposite.
