This bill does nothing but penalize health care providers who provide gender-affirming care, yet another step for the state to interfere in the private health care of its citizens. Members of our state government, especially those in the Republican Party, seem incredibly interested but injecting themselves into the relationship between doctor and patient, and to tell private citizens what sort of health care they can and cannot access. I'm absolutely sure this sort of interference into medical care would never be applied equally across the board for other procedures, just as I'm sure cisgendered patients will never problem accessing gender-affirming care, because the members of the Republican Party seem to focus their desire to control bodily autonomy primarily towards women and LGBTQ+ people.
