The use of second generation anticoagulant rodenticides (SGARs) should be restricted to limited use in severe rodent infestations only to protect natural rodent predators like owls, hawks, red and gray foxes, fishers, bobcats and coyotes. Too many of these natural predators are found dead or incapacitated with high levels of SGARs in their blood or tissues.
