Don Floyd

I am strongly opposed to HB 1691. Restricting the amount of land that can be placed in current use is contrary to the purpose of the current use law which seeks to protect open space. There are several problems with this bill: 1. It is not clear who would be responsible for enforcement. 2. The definitions of where it would apply are overly complex. 3. Section III is particularly concerning. It would legislate mandatory forest management and agricultural practices on private lands. I ask the Committee to find HB 1691 Inexpedient to legislate.
