The NH legislature and governors have passed numerous bills in the past few years that make it harder for citizens living in NH to vote, register to vote, absentee vote, etc. And the new laws take effect at different times of year, sometimes between primaries and elections, making it very hard for citizens to know what the rules are. I know of citizens being turned away at the polls because they were not aware of law changes and citizens needing to search for their marriage and birth documentation to re-register to vote because they were purged from the rolls. Working people don't have time to deal with this nonsense. And you are just making the jobs of our poll workers and election officials harder. The Secretary of State may balk at this as a new requirement, but ultimately it will prevent an avalanche of work, citizen complaints and probably lawsuits that will be even harder to deal with. I support this bill because education is needed when irresponsible bills are passed by elected officials. It is a shame that we need to spend money on something like this at a time when our state finances are such a train wreck, but the ability of citizens to vote is important. Put citizens first: Provide necessary education about NH's byzantine election laws so all eligible voters in NH can exercise their Constitutional rights. Thank you.
