Repealing buffer zones for reproductive facilities is a terrifying proposition. In case you forgot, in December 1994 John Salvi, "a 22-year-old New Hampshire hairdresser who’d plastered a picture of a fetus on his pickup truck walked into a Brookline, Mass., Planned Parenthood clinic and sprayed the waiting room with gunfire. Then he did it again, at another abortion clinic two miles away". He killed two receptionists and critically wounded five others that day. There was no buffer zone at that time that might have deterred him. My neighbor at the time was in the first clinic he entered. She watched her patients, friends and colleagues be sprayed with bullets. She never got over watching the carnage of that day. And now 42 years later the legislature wants to repeal the buffer zones. This bill should never have been written. Do the right thing and vote no on this bill.
