I am against this bill because it will encourage landowners with large holdings to sell their land if they cannot afford the taxes. Many New Hampshire families hold large parcels in current use but do not have lots of money in savings. This bill would accelerate land sales when these families find the taxes become unaffordable, and that in turn would jeopardize the rural character of our state.
