Current Use is as temporary as the landowner needs it. It does not restrict development permanently, as a conservation easement does. It provides landowners, such as farmers, the ability to hold onto their land for the next generation. I approve of limiting it to meaningful property sizes, but it already does that. The option of Current Use can actually encourage landowners NOT to put their land in permanent conservation easement —- over which neither the town or state has control.
