I am a resident of Bridgewater, and in 2022 and 2024 I ran for State Representative in District 18. I lost by only 4 votes in a recount in `22. I am an anthropologist with 35 years of teaching in public higher education, and I am a specialist in Islamic Law with two published books & many articles on the subject. As both an academic & former candidate with countless conversations with voters I assure you that banning Sharia is about as far as you can get from voters' concerns. No state in New England or the Northeast has banned Sharia; those that have include: AZ, AL, KS, LA, NC, SD, & TN. NH would be the first in our region to do so! For NH, this bill is a solution in search of a problem.
