As John Stuart Mill wrote in On Liberty: "the only purpose for which power can be rightfully exercised over any member of a civilized community, against his will, is to prevent harm to others. His own good, either physical or moral, is not a sufficient warrant.... Over himself, over his body and mind, the individual is sovereign" Vaccinating your children not only protects them, but prevents the harm to others. As a government, there is an obligation to create rules that optimize the safety of the children in our schools.
