I am old enough that we did not have all the vaccines we do now. We are very fortunate to have them now. I recall that my mother very ill with mumps when we all got it: it was much harder for her as an adult. There are also serious side effects to contacting mumps which I fortunately did not have. However in a family of 4 children we all got every disease and it was pretty miserable. There were also lots of missed days at school and for at least one parent a lot of missed days as well. I still recall how excited my family was when we were able to get the polio vaccine. Our parents lived through a time of seeing a president who had become partially crippled by polio, A close relative also had polio but like Roosevelt she had to wear leg braces. I support vaccines which protect all the population and the health care providers. Thank you for your time. P. S. the information about vaccines causing autism has pretty much been disproven.
