As a person on disability income, with my wife also having to work full-time, the property tax burden is already unreasonable (due to astronomical re-assessment policies, among other things.) We don't yet qualify for any senior citizen tax breaks, either. Raising the state property tax is going to impose a major financial burdens on my family and those like us! As it is, trying to make a monthly budget that includes a mortgage is becoming tougher each year, even in the few years where a cost of living adjustment is in place! Our mortgage is rising at a ridiculous rate each year because of property tax increases, and while I understand that our town also has to come to grips with how it is hurting its residents, so does the state of New Hampshire! Please do not pass this bill!
