In my experience as a practicing physician for 35 years the importance of medical students ,interns and medical residents being allowed the freedom to honor their religious beliefs cannot be overstated. Their own personal beliefs and following them will impact how they make decisions concerning patient care in the future. They should not be discriminated against. Institutions that do discriminate against these medical providers should not be rewarded with government contracts. In my experience as a physician during the COVID pandemic, It was commonplace for medical providers who objected to the vaccine for religious reasons to be discriminated against.
