Bobbie Bagley

As a the Chief Public Health Official for the city of Nashua and Director of the Director of the Division of Public Health and Community Services, I submit my testimony in opposition of HB 1811. This bill proposes to set the constituents of the state of NH back by repealing all childhood immunization requirements for schools and day cares. This puts all of these children in harms way of being protected against vaccine preventable illnesses that could lead to sickness, serious injury and even in some cases death. Children in congregate settings are easily exposed to infectious diseases and can carry these communicable diseases home to older family members and other household members who may be immunocompromised. This is also jeopardize the health of pregnant teachers and child care staff. We have been very successful in NH with keeping our diseases at low rates because of the high vaccine rates in our states. Let's continue to protect the health of the public and our children by voting no to this legislation. Thank you for care and concern.
