I am against assessing $5 per $1000 state education tax, even with the adjustments. Currently I am being assessed a total of over $17/$1000 with a very large amount ($9.17) for education (locally) and $1.25 for the statewide portion. Without first legislating that the total local + state education tax cannot be more than the current system, a 400% increase in the state education tax component is a horrible idea. -- please share a lot more hindsight information about everything that was wrong before the Claremont decision, and everything that is so terrible after the Claremont decision such that a Bill like this is being proposed. The tax burden on us in donor locations is already too burdensome.
