Insect populations are important to pollinate plants, including those that provide us with apples, corn and all other manner of foods. As adults and larvae they provide food for fish, birds and other animals. It is important to know how these populations are doing so we can protect them, if needed. Without this knowledge the affect on our farming could be devastating.
