Why on earth would you try to restrict the free flow of ideas in a classroom like this? Teachers work hard to create safe spaces for students to learn and share. These topics are not taboo! I'm tried of non-educators trying to impose their ideologies and wills in our classroom. Being able to talk about racism, sexism and LGBTQ issues is important to our history and students' mental health and safety. Quit trying to legislate biblical teachings. And quit assuming all parents are benevolent and safe. They are not. Stop trying to erase history. Enough already. Why don't you focus on the actual problems facing our state and system of education, such as over reliance on property taxes, the shortage of teachers and materials, and students in mental health crisis?
