This bipartisan bill amends the duties of the Exotic Aquatic Weeds & Species Committee to include the study of cyanobacteria and harmful algal blooms and factors contributing to their spread. HB1148 also modifies the committee's role in aiding the Department of Environmental Services, to include control and eradication of harmful algal blooms and cyanobacteria, alongside milfoil.
