Not that long ago a summer night's drive would result on a windshield full of splattered insects....not so today. As insect populations have collapsed so to have all the other populations of critters either directly or indirectly dependent on insects. Not only are entire ecosystems impoverished so too is agricultural productivity threatened by reduced numbers of essential pollinating insects. I strongly urge you to support HB 1054 which would establish a committee to study the impact of declining insect populations and ways in which this might be effectively addressed.
