I strongly support full funding for DHHS to make sure they have the funding to keep SNAP up and running. As a regular volunteer in my community working with a service oriented non profit I pack weekend food for school children who don't have access to sufficient food over the weekends when they are not in school. Over the summer months it is even more difficult for these kids to get what they need. I'm not talking about these kids not getting a new toy or even clothes. I'm talking about not having food! Peanut butter, jelly, fruit, veggies or even a simple granola bar. I also pack groceries for the Food Pantry and the stories there are the same. But I see all kinds of people. And they all can't afford food on their own and they're often needing to provide food for other family members too. And last month my volunteer group fielded an urgent request for baby formula. BABY FORMULA!! And if this bill can help provide the funding to help situations like these then I'm asking you to SUPPORT this bill.
