As an OBGYN that is protecting the health of our pregnant mothers and their newborns, the importance of vaccines cannot be overstated. Those of us in the medical field truly fear a day we will be faced with diagnosing and treating illnesses that have previously been controlled or eradicated with the advent of vaccines. Pregnant women and newborns are immunocompromised populations - making vaccines harder to access - either financially or by refuting reputable medical support, will ultimately put this population at greater risk.
