HB1778 claims to prevent indoctrination, yet it does so by restricting what students may examine and what educators may discuss. That is not limited government; it is state-mandated ideological control. Education rooted in liberty teaches students how to think, not which perspectives must be avoided. Preventing students from engaging with differing viewpoints does not protect them, it weakens critical thinking and replaces education with silence. That outcome directly contradicts the principles of individual responsibility, intellectual independence, and parental trust this legislature often affirms. For these reasons, HB1778 should be rejected.
