Hello, my name is Roanna Ayers, and I live in Lebanon, New Hampshire. I’m calling to urge you to vote NO on HB1778, ‘relative to prohibiting the use of personal identity ideology in public school instruction and policies.’ This bill would chill honest teaching about race, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and other aspects of personal identity, and would make teachers afraid to answer students’ questions or support vulnerable kids. As a parent, primary care NP, and community member, I want schools where every student feels seen, respected, and safe, including LGBTQ+ students and students of color, and HB1778 moves us in the opposite direction. Please oppose HB1778 and instead support inclusive, evidence-based education. Thank you for your time.”
