Doug Baxter

Thank you for your consideration of this bill. I am the president of the Pleasant Lake Protective Association (new London, NH) and support this bill as we and other lakes, quite frankly, need all the help we can get to prevent our waterbodies from deteriorating any further. Many lakes in the state are at a tipping point where the degradation is so great, that it will soon be too late to ever bring them back due to such high concentrations of phosphorus and other damaging nutrients. Our NH lakes are a boon to the state's economy as well as to the towns in which they lie, and we cannot afford to let them fall into a state of decay where they are no longer appealing for recreation, etc. We have spent tens of thousands of our own dollars sampling and taking remedial actions, yet we still have not been able to definitively answer the question, "What is causing these Cyanobacteria blooms?' Thank you, Doug Baxter
