Good morning, VOTE NO on HB 1817. Parents CANNOT have it both ways! I have no issue if a parent wishes to have their child educated at home, in a private or charter school, by remote instruction, in a boarding school. BUT, they must then follow through and use their own time and resources to support their own decision. HB 1817 essentially allows parents to take a "private school voucher" then turn around and also enroll the student in their public school for certain classes!!! This approach takes resources away from that local school and requiring the school to provide classes to that student. Take about having your cake and eating it, too! VOTE NO HB 1817. Thank you, Lynn McRae, RN, BS Ed., MALS Dartmouth Lyme
