Financial transparency is needed to maintain public confidence in local authorities if they are cooperating with ICE. For example the Merrimack warehouse detention facility will decrease tax revenues an estimated half million dollars, and the costs of public services to a building designed as a warehouse but which would be tasked with housing 500 detainees plus staff will be a financial burden on the town that should be transparent.
