I oppose this bill on multiple levels as detailed below: - Solar energy is the lowest cost form of energy production in the world, and is continuing to decline in cost in accordance with Wright's Law. This bill attempts to prevent the widespread deployment of solar energy by carefully defining "reliable" and "dispatchable" to exclude solar produced energy. This will drive up the cost of energy for NH citizens. - It attempts to add "energy generated by hydrocarbons" as a reliable energy source. Fossil fuel based power plants are not as reliable as a solar array as witnessed in Ukraine today. Solar has shown to be more resilient than fossil based thermal generators. - It adds Nuclear Reactors to the list of "green energy" and "clean energy". Nuclear reactors produce radioactive waste and the US has no plan for how to deal with its disposal. This bill is a clear and obvious attack on clean energy solutions including wind, solar and battery storage by fossil fuel interests intent on continuing to make us dependent on them. The cost per KWH of energy produced by wind and solar will continue to decline and we must ensure that citizens of NH are in position to take advantage of these emerging low cost forms of energy.
