I am very concerned about this bill as it proposes to exclude renewable energy and only allow for fossil fuel and nuclear energy. First why would we want to exclude any energy options; this makes no sense. Second the energy sources being excluded have already proven to be economical, with zero emissions issues, and fastest to build. Renewable energy is also the fastest growing energy market; why then would it be excluded? Fossil fuels, propane etc are not already available in NH; they have to be brought in. Renewable energy sources are available in NH and continuing to increase their use increases NH jobs and economy. Third fossil fuel and nuclear energy have major known health risks and environmental risks which translate into health as well as economic risks. Fourth: NH prides itself on supporting ingenuity, and innovation and this bill specifically restricts these NH values. I implore the members of the NH House of Representatives Science, Technology and Energy Committee to make HB1455 Inexpedient to Legislate.
