This bill will raise ratepayers’ costs. It promotes fossil fuel and nuclear power while excluding future use of renewable energy. Renewable energy is cheaper, faster and has more flexible applications. Mandating fossil fuel and nuclear energy plants in New Hampshire is expensive and dangerous because of the human health risks from the heavy metals, soot, ozone, radiation and carbon. This mandate will limit innovation and development of non-fossil fuel sources in New Hampshire. This mandate will have unexpected consequences on ratepayers as there are no clear safeguards for them. FINALLY, Can you say WASTE? The waste doesn't go away.
