I oppose this bill that prioritizes charter schools over public schools. The state already dangerously underfunds public education in our communities, driving up local property taxes in the most inequitable, regressive schema in the country, and persists in doing so despite the court mandating them to do otherwise more than once. This latest bill is another way for the state to reroute needed funds from public schools for building aid and other needs who have patiently waited for those funds (in some cases for years). Cutting in line is not OK. Do not approve this unfair bill designed to hurt our local community schools and our taxpaying local property owners.
