Eliminating the property tax exemption for non-profits would place an undue burden on of these organizations and make it incredibly difficult for them to provide the support they are created to deliver. Specifically in the case of Our Place New Hampshire, which is creating an independent living environment for adults with disabilities, this could complete change their ability to create and implement their vision. When non-profits are grass roots organizations responsible for finding funding to achieve their goals this type of exemption is critical to their success and by eliminating this they would experience obstacles that could affect their ability to exist. Why would we want to make it harder for non-profit organizations to succeed and help the people of our state??
