I strongly oppose this bill and any other requiring a state based citizenship, citizenship cards to state based "native citizens" or those from other states required to take an oath of allegiance to the state. This is not based on constitutional law, and even when an oath to the government is required (for military or federal office) the oath is to the United States Constitution. This is a crazy requirement and to me the antithesis of being a citizen of the United States (see that? UNITED States??). I remember when I came back from the Peace Corps, and I got close to the NH/VT border and suddenly had a panic attack that I did not have my passport on me, and then reality returned and I realized, that in the United States of America, I was free to pass from state to state, I did not need papers, and I could freely move between states, and vote where I currently lived. This bill is a abomination on our right to move between states, and our rights as a US citizen to vote in our state. As long as one only votes in one state per election, which has historically proven to be the case for most voters, there is no issue. I strongly oppose this proposed bill, and encourage our state representatives to vote against it.
