You politicians love to say that you encourage participation from the general public in the process and yet you will take any opportunity to make voting a more difficult right to access. I believe you are the ones who should have to take some idiotic “loyalty oath to the state” because all you have done is demonstrate your lack of any loyalty to the well-being of the people that live here. I know you all took an oath of office, but it is abundantly clear you do not take it seriously. How is the cockamamie loyalty oath you want to impress on New Hampshire residents supposed to do anything whatsoever except discourage voting by those who don’t like the taste of this excrement you are trying to feed them? This is a thinly veiled attempt at forcing people to register for the completely unnecessary and illegal citizenship card. It is completely non-controversial and settled law that U.S. citizens are also citizens of the state in which they reside. There should be no other requirement to include being born in the state nor any vacuous oath. Proving one lives in New Hampshire is already a requirement in order to register to vote. So why add even more to the process when ultimately all it is going to accomplish is disenfranchise may residents? This bill is a threat to democracy in the state of New Hampshire. It passing through committee would be a massive mistake further undermining whatever trust the people have left in the state government.
