As a practicing Speech-Language Pathologist in the state who works as a specialist consultant, I am in support of a process to streamline background checks when an individual works in many school districts each year. In my 25 years of practice in New Hampshire, I have been fingerprinted many times. This required taking the necessary time off to appear in person in various districts. The associated costs were often covered by the SAU, and sometimes I paid them. A statewide database for background checks on workers like me would save time, money, and effort that is better directed to the individuals we serve. Thank you for your consideration.
