Samantha Stamas | Oppose HB1256

I oppose HB 1256. Removing the State Librarian’s authority to award scholarships for accredited graduate library programs would weaken New Hampshire’s library workforce and limit access to professional education. Libraries play a critical role in literacy, education, technology access, and community support, particularly in rural and underserved areas. Eliminating this scholarship authority without providing an alternative offers no clear public benefit and risks reducing the quality and availability of library services statewide.
