We believe that a universal health care program would be beneficial to people with intellectual/developmental disabilities because it eliminates bureaucratic barriers to accessing quality and affordable health care. Research has determined that a universal healthcare program would also save the American taxpayer hundreds of millions of dollars in administrative costs. We believe that healthcare is a right and that we are resourceful enough to rebuild a system that benefits all Americans, both in quality and access and in economical ways.
