Our system for funding public schools creates unjust and unconstitutional disparities in students' opportuties for a high quality, well resourced education, as well as unduly burdening local and middle-income taxpayers. The courts have been clear about the responsibility of the state to change this. Opposition to this bill, which simply looks into alternative ways to fund public education, can only be interpreted as a blatant disdain of the NH constitution and an effort to undermine public education, which the vast majority of Granite Staters value strongly.
