This bill has good intentions; i.e., offering some assistance to tenants who through no fault of their own stop receiving Social Security payments which they need to pay their rent. The problem is the non-ppayment of 90 days' rent may place a significant financial burden on the landlord who may need on-time rent payments to meet his/her own financial obligations. Unless the bill can be amended to provide some level of protection to the landlord, I am opposed to a 90 day grace period.. Perhaps a 30 day grace period is fairer to both sides.
