As a parent and homeowner, I oppose HB1774 for several reasons. Primarily, I do not support having my local tax payments used to subsidize the private educations of wealthier people. I expect my tax payment to be invested in my local community to support the local public school. Like many other residents, I view my local school as a central hub of my community. Attempts to undermine that hub will not get my support. Furthermore, as a local voter, I will not be supporting those who put forward bills blatantly designed to extract from localities to further concentrate and transfer wealth to the already wealthy.
