January 21, 2026 Judith Prince 24 Lamprey River Park Newmarket, NH 03857 Good morning, I have been a manufactured homeowner for over 20 years. I am writing in support of HB 1357; a bill to permit newly manufactured housing in residentially zoned areas. This is something that is especially important to me. Forty-five years ago, this same situation kept me from becoming a homeowner. My husband and I wanted to purchase a manufactured home and place it on a private piece of property. At that time, a manufactured home was not allowed on private property in the town where we hoped to live. This restriction limited our ability to purchase a home, due to the cost of traditional homes. We finally bought a home that we could financially afford, but it needed a lot of repairs. After making many repairs and improvements, followed by a divorce, we had to sell this home. I was then able to purchase a manufactured home in North Hampton. It was a beautiful home and perfect for me. Since that time, I have moved and purchased another manufactured home in Newmarket, which I love, and I really like my community. This home was also affordable for me. If it were not for these manufactured homes, I would not be a homeowner due to the cost of other types of homes. If this bill passes it would allow the younger generation to become homeowners, by making housing more affordable for families. This bill would also allow older people to have a home on a piece of land that they own. I do not feel that manufactured housing is any less of a home than the more expensive homes in New Hampshire. I urge you to support HB 1357 to help people to be able to become homeowners. Sincerely, Judy Prince
