Our communities spend significant effort in creating a sense of place and maintain a sense of history. Neighborhoods have been built over many years and have evolved specific characteristics that are part of the desirability of these places. In many residential neighborhoods, existing housing forms are the identity of those neighborhoods. Current residents have pride in their streets and open spaces, and have invested in their individual homes to maintain the character. Manufactured houses are a good solution to quickly provide a house, but should not be uncontrolled regarding where they can be placed. Local governments and local citizens are best to decide where these type houses are allowed. Local government needs the right to control this and the State should not impose a global solution for every city, town and village in the state. I do not support this bill. There are many other solutions to providing homes, and this is not a good solution.
