I am support of this bill. All marriages must be honored across state lines, or we risk causing complex legal issues. A marriage should not suddenly vanish simply because a geographic line was crossed. This protects residents of other states from a spouse creating a separate bigamist marriage in our state if their original marriage is suddenly not legally recognized here. That’s a level of legal chaos that no one wants. This is a step forward for New Hampshire in insuring all adult residents having equal access to marriage, and protecting the marriages that already exist from legal chaos in the future.
