My mother has lived in a nursing home the past year and I witness on a regular basis the toll it can take on the residents and staff when there is not enough caregivers. The staff is burned out and exhausted. The residents do not get the care they need in a timely manner such as when asking to use the bathroom or getting moved into a different position therefore putting the residents at increased risk of infections or pressure sores.
