HB 1438 will require mental health professionals to report animal abuse information that they acquire from their clients, as they are now required to do in cases of child abuse. Wild animals are also subjected to abuse and they are protected under RSA 206:19-b Cruelty to Wild Animals, Fish, or Wild Birds. HB 1438 will help ensure this protection.
