I am a voter of 4+ decades and I will never support a death penalty for many reasons, that have all stood up to the test of time in my voting career. Since the repeal of the death penalty in NH there has been no increase in homicide, NH is currently lowest in the nation. The death penalty does not protect the citizens of NH any more so than life in prison…which is cheaper. At no point should a government be in the business of executing its citizens. Kelly Ayotte has wanted a death penalty in NH since 2006 when she said she is “disappointed and angry that NH has abolished its death penalty”. Her personal agenda should not come before what is best for the citizens of NH.
